That's it, we've decided Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is officially the Elizabeth Hurley of our generation. As we said last week, the British bombshell has been championing subversively sexy styles with subtle hints of flesh rather than in-yer-face virtual nakedness, just like our Liz. Take these floor-sweeping gowns, complete with thigh-flashes topped off with uber-glossy hair, as example.
First up, the new-Megan-Fox-of-the-Transformers-franchise sported a divine number from Michael Kors' S/S '11 catwalk for the film's Russian premiere in Moscow yesterday - the asymmetric draping makes it elegantly Grecian-like and we're loving that bold fuchsia hue. Then RHW opted for a touch of Gucci glam with this A/W '11 beauty featuring a wonderful floral appliqué on the chartreuse bodice and there are those killer pins again, peeping through a sheer black skirt. What a fittie.
Hopping from Moscow to Paris, Diane Kruger teaches us that, sometimes, all a gal needs is a ruddy good red dress. For here she is schmoozing and smouldering at the amfAR Gala last night and sure, it helps that Diane's got the prettiest face we ever did see, but all she needs to polish off this YSL Edition Soir 2011 gown is a scraped-back 'do and a slick of matching lippy. Go knock 'em dead, DK!
As the new faces of Thierry Mugler's legendary fragrance, Angel, Naomi Watts and Eva Mendes make the perfect counterparts, dontcha think? One is a rosy-cheeked blonde cutie and the other is a voluptuous Latin beauty (who can SING, we might add), so how brilliant that they played up to their complimentary looks at the fragrance launch in NYC? While Naomi went the androgynous route in a sharp noir suit, Eva chose a womanly white gown with striking neck and hip detailing. It's ying-yang perfection.
And what better way to bring today's Best Dressed round-up to a close than with a touch of royalty? Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie may well have endured criticism for those hats but, as they proved at Ascot, ugly sisters they ain't. In fact, they positively shone at Elton John's White Tie and Tiara Ball held in London last night. While Eugenie returned to a similar scarlet style by Vivienne Westwood for the swanky occasion (check it out here), big sister Bea worked Oscar-esque elegance thanks to an Elie Saab Haute Couture dress covered in delicate embroidery and clinched with a high-waisted grosgrain belt. Princess worthy indeed.
