Galliano and Moss pictured in 2009
There’s only a week before we find out what Kate Moss will wear to her wedding (eep!) and in spite of standing trial in Paris yesterday, John Galliano is still the man reportedly behind the dress, with rumours emerging that the designer has been secretly working on Mossy’s wedding attire at the HQ of a New York based designer.
As undoubtedly the second-most-anticipated wedding dress to be worn by someone called Kate in2011, the story of who will design Kate’s dress has been almost as hotly contested as the design of the dress for that other nice lady who got married in April. Moss reportedly told friends at a Topshop dinner in February that Galliano was designing her dress, thought his was subsequently denied by her fiancé Jamie Hince (after Galliano’s arrest later that month) and was also in contrast to Vivienne Westwood’s assertion at her LFW show that Kate was set to design her own dress.
However, it later emerged that Moss had asked Galliano’s boyfriend – Alexis Roche – for assistance in getting the dress ready for her big day, which would seem to back up the new rumours that Galliano has been working in NY in the run-up to Kate and Jamie’s July 1st wedding. However, since Galliano told the court yesterday that since February 24th he had been at a rehab facility in Arizona for 2 months, and then another facility in Switzerland for 2 months we’re not sure EXACTLY what to believe.
In other news, some rumours surrounding Kate and Jamie’s wedding list have emerged, with a diverse selection of items from a £12 tea-strainer to a £6,000 rug and £5,000 cutlery service reportedly on the couple’s list. And there we were planning on getting them a silver photo frame…
