We love shoes, you love shoes, we all love shoes. Some people own just a couple of pairs, others have rooms and rooms dedicated to their collections, but love them just the same. Acres and acres of copy has been written about a woman and her footwear, so it was only a matter of time before it hit the big screen. Yup, God Save my Shoes is a new documentary all about the ‘intimate relationship between women and their shoes – from a psychological, sociocultural and erotic perspective.’ Crumbs. Starring Manolo Blahnik, Pierre Hardy, Dita von Teese and um, Fergie, one woman boasts of having over 300 pairs – but judging by her closet, it looks like loads more, while Christian Louboutin waxes lyrical on women having a ‘carnal relationship’ with their heels. Hmm, we might never look at our stilettos in the same way again.
