On Friday, we brought you the first image from Versace's A/W '11 campaign starring - shock! horror! - an elfin brunette rather than the standard blonde bombshell (see January Jones and Georgia Jagger). Who's that girl? we heard you cry. Ladies and gents, say hello to Saskia de Brauw, the up-and-coming model who has Grazia Daily in raptures.
It all began back in April when the 29-year-old was announced as the mysterious girl with 'short dark hair' who would be Donatella's latest muse after appearing on Carine Roitfeld's final French Vogue cover. Her androgynous prettiness was a fine choice for a bit of edge, we mused. Then, we saw her stomping down Chanel's Cruise catwalk in a billowing chiffon gown, which promptly rose to the top of our fashion wish list.
But the frenzy isn't only taking over the Grazia offices - oh no. In fact, Ms de Brauw is fast becoming a fixture in Uncle Karl's gang thanks to her cheekboney fusion of Stella Tennant-meets-Freja Beha attitude. For proof, look to Chanel's recent Resort 2012 lookbook featuring Saskia's impossibly long limbs draped over boy-toy Baptise Giabiconi [above left]. What's more, Riccardo Tisci has also fallen for her charms (he was the one to introduce her to Carine, no less), casting her in Givenchy's fierce S/S '11 campaign shot by Mert and Marcus [above right].
Aside from striking a mean pose, we know Saskia cites fellow Dutch model Lara Stone as her inspiration and although she entered the industry at the tender age of 16, she took a break to study at the Arts Academy (brains and beauty? grrr). Take a look at her artsy blog by clicking on this pink bit.
So we're offically declaring S-D-B as One To Watch. And you can be sure we will be doing just that, right here on Grazia Daily....
