HOLD THE FRONT PAGE! This dreamy image of newly-wed Lily Allen wearing a floaty Chanel bridal gown has just landed! >cue girlie aww-ing<
Back in March, Grazia Daily first reported that Monsieur Lagerfeld would be creating a wedding dress for the popstrel-turned-fashion-mogul following their long-term friendship, so you can imagine our surprise when Lily wore a custom-designed Delphine Manivet dress when walking down the aisle last weekend. Had she ditched Uncle Karl's design?!
Au contraire! Much to our joy, this morning the Chanel website released this snapshot of the magical moment we'd imagined: Lily looking divine in a vintage-inspired dress from the French fashion house made of white chiffon with billowing sleeves and a sheer yoke, leading to speculation that she wore it for the wedding reception after the ceremony. Although we haven't been treated to a full-length shot (boo), Karl's accompanying sketch shows the gown's fabulously frou-frou proportions with a full layered skirt covered in lace. We swoon.
Oh, and don't be alarmed by the non-bridal black manicure and scruffy up 'do Lily's sporting in this candid pic, dear readers — it is, in fact, not from her Big Day but from the dress fitting, which took place when she visited Chanel HQ in Paris four months earlier. Phewf!
Pick up the new issue of Grazia when it goes on sale tomorrow for an exclusive interview with Delphine Manivet, which reveals the truth behind the two dresses...
