Be still our teenage hearts. On this glorious morning, the mystery surrounding which designer was honoured with creating Bella Swan's wedding dress has finally been revealed, and the lucky lady is...drum roll please...CAROLINA HERRERA eep! squeal! woop!
Incredibly, Summit Entertaiment have managed to keep the designer of The Dress a well-kept secret (hmm, sound familiar?) - until now. Taking to Twitter yesterday, they confirmed that 'On November 18, see Bella’s Carolina Herrera-designed wedding dress in BreakingDawnPart1.'

If you don't fall under the Twihard category, let us fill you in: Bella Swan is the vampire-loving heroine of the Twilight Saga who marries sparkly Edward Cullen in the penultimate instalment, which hits the big screen later this year. And it was back in November that Grazia Daily first began speculating about the dress of dreams, which Kristen Stewart wears when walking up the aisle to Robert Pattinson (swoon! eek! shriek!) in the film.
So will fans be treated to a ladylike lacy concotion from the likes of Valentino or Alberta Ferretti, we wondered? Or would the film's producers patriotically opt for an American designer - Zac Posen was the hottest bet. Meanwhile, you, dear readers, argued that they should stay true to the book, which describes the dress as an early 1900s design that's 'just stepped out of an Austen movie'. Hmm, is Ms Hererra up to the task?
We say yes! You only need to look at the wardrobe of Renee Zellweger, a loyal champion of Hererra gowns, to know that refined and classic creations are the US designer's forté. Just recently, the A-list actress wore this twinkling concoction on the red carpet, with enough tulle for a fairytale bride, and lest we forget the Herrera-designed sleek and strapless number she wore when marrying country music singer Kenny Chesney. As for the designer's most recent bridal collection, her spring 2012 designs were frou-frou perfect, adorned with chantilly lace and floral appliques. ‘It is always a great pleasure to design any wedding gown, but this one was particularly special,' Herrera said of the honour. 'Kristen is a stunning girl and her character, Bella, will make a beautiful bride.’ thrills!
But with an unbearable FIVE months to wait until the film's release, we can only guess at what Bella's dress will actually look like. As a self-confessed tomboy who's more comfortable in casual jeans (like K-Stew herself), we're thinking luxurious but low-key. Plus, considering the young bride won't want to tempt her blood-sucking boyfriend with flashes of flesh, it'll surely feature a demure rather than off-the-shoulder neckline. Stephenie Meyer, the Twilight author says that the dress is a 'simpler style than the frillier Edwardian stuff. Elegant white satin, cut on the bias, with long sleeves' and The Twilight Saga: The Official Illustrated Guide gives us a sneak peek of exactly that [above right].
Most importantly, R-Pattz has given the dress his seal of approval, describing his beloved Kristen as looking 'amazing' in it, and judging from the tantalising glimpses we've had from the teaser trailer, he ain't wrong. What we do know is Bella's wearing her long locks up in a chic chignon with a diamond hair slide securing a simple veil and…well, that's all we got. So while we compose ourselves, click play below to get those Twilight tingles going and do let us know how YOU imagine the soon-to-be Mrs Cullen looking from the tasty neck down…
