Good news for the UK’s brides-to-be: Vera Wang, undisputed Queen of wedding dress design, has opened her first standalone UK store.
In association with Browns, Wang has taken over the space that was formerly the Browns Bride store on London’s Brook Street (ne fret pas bridezilla, Browns Bride has upped sticks and moved to Marylebone). Wang has opened a super chic charcoal and grey shop space, which VW president Mario Grauso describes as ‘very modern and masculine and a fun juxtaposition with the dresses’.
To celebrate said opening, Wang came to London to par-tay, hosting an intimate dinner for her fash-tastic celeb mates like Leighton Meester and Tamara Mellon at Massimo inside the super swish recently refurbished Corinthia Hotel.
The new store will carry not only Wang’s latest designs but also bestsellers from past seasons as well as offering a made-to-order service. Amaze, right? While she was in London, Wang didn’t JUST set up her own shop, mind you, telling WWD that she was also enjoying the fruits of other designer’s labours, saying of Dover Street Market ‘I could spend two days going through every floor. Just bury me there.’
You and us both, sister.
