WATCH Daphne Guinness Get Ready!

Dramatic music! Moody lighting! Gothic styling! Black Swan II? Noooo, silly – it’s 'Daphne’s Window', the first foray into cinema of everyone’s favourite treacle-voiced fashion heiress, Daphne Guinness. Guinness famously dressed herself in the window of Barneys for this year’s MET ball and this (not-at-all pretentious) mini film accompanies her as she dons McQueen for the annual fashion gala.

The beautifully shot mini-movie, directed by Brennan Stasiewiczis, offers some fascinating insights into Daphne’s psyche – example: ‘I am what I am, and then when people label me as eccentric or different, I’m kind of astonished… because I kind of think that this is completely normal.’ Hmm. We don’t know why, but we’re guessing that Daphne doesn’t spend much time on the tube. Or Tesco.

As well as following Daphne as she gets ready for the MET ball – a process which involves a good deal of feline posing, rather than the putting-on of mascara and discovery of broken zips and such – the film looks at the armour inspired pieces of jewellery (including the amaze chainmail glove which DG sports in the vid), which she has created in association with jeweller Shaun Leane and which will be on display in London at the end of June.

Watch and learn pretties; THIS is how you get ready for a night out.
