Let's forget the horrid rain, dears, because this morning, the Americans have provided us with a torrent of dazzling brights. Yep, the LA hills saw the MTV Movie Awards last night and this is one shabang that ensures tons of fun (OMG R-Patz kissed Taylor Lautner!) aswell as flirty frocks a-plenty (EEP K-Stew doesn't look grubby!). So y'all know what we're gonna do? A Best Dressed round-up, of course!
Emma Watson's cute as a button, isn't she? This Marchesa number is the perfect balance between playfulness, white hot raunch and glitzy glam. Bingo! The white silk was given a swipe of elegance thanks to the beaded neckline and cap sleeves while the metallic Brian Atwood heels keep things funky.
Ooh, sophisticated! Girl-of-the-moment Blake Lively went for a slick, sleek look, wrapping her bodacious curves in Michael Kors and pulling her long locks into a tight ponytail. The cobalt blue of her dress and those purple Louboutins are enough to pack a punch, and the cut-outs add a dash of her trademark sexy.
Kristen Stewart is one starlet who has a very distinctive style; put this tomboy in something she doesn't like and we know about it. Which is why this rocker-inspired number by Balmain - yes, BALMAIN! - is the perfect choice for our K-Stew. It has enough safety pins and studs to make Joan Jett proud and as ever, she teams it with buckets loads of attitude. Here's hoping this is the first step to some Balmainia for Kristen. As for her hair, it's not too preened, it's not too greasy, just totally effortless in a bed-head stylee. Foxy!
Speaking of Balmainia, Leighton Meester also sported a sparkling Christophe Decarnin creation with Pierre Hardy sandals. This silver mini dress from the A/W '11 collection is embellished with a squillion bugle beads and intricate mirror detailing, turning her into a total hottie. J-Lo, eat your heart out. Oh, and those dip-dyed tresses are looking mighty fine too.
How adorable is Hailee Steinfeld? Thing is, this smart Louis Vuitton suit is less cutesy 14-year-old, more fusty 40-year-old, y'know? Because while we take our hat off to her not going for the usual flashy fare or thigh-skimming hemline, the young actress looks a tad lamb-dressed-as-mutton. Thankfully, she added a pop of colour with an emerald green Edie Parker clutch, plus red lippy and matching manicure. Do you like?
Ah, see, this is more like it. Fellow teen and current Rodarte muse, Elle Fanning also went experimental but looked perfectly playful and spring-like in a D&G S/S '11 playsuit teamed with matching floral wedges. Gorgeous!
The Dolce boys also had the honour of dressing Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, best known for her Victoria's Secret appearances but soon to be eclipsing Megan Fox as the latest Transformers hottie. And although there's no doubt she's just as lust-worthy as Ms Fox, this pillowy-lipped beauty already has the fashion world on her side, so it's no surprise to see RHW nailing a leopard print number from the Dolce & Gabbana A/W '11 collection, accessorised with little more than Sergio Rossi tricolor wedges and a um, colour-popping yellow car. Nice work!
WOW. This, we love. Emma Stone is back to her pretty red head roots (hurrah!) and her fashion mojo is still going strong. Under the lace overlay on her Bottega Veneta A/W'11 dress, you can see a funky striped yellow and grey bustier, tied together with a ladylike black ribbon. The fringe hemline is a tad lamp-shade-esque but this we can forgive, not least because of her genius accessorising - a fab Bottega Veneta clutch and burnt orange Casadei heels.
And here's more Balmain, making it a triple whammy for Mr Decarnin who rarely dishes his designs out to the masses, A-list or no. This time, it arrived on the fine form of Mila Kunis who sported a glitzy embellished skirt, pared down by a simple black top and super-sleek locks. The understated outfit is the epitome of cool, dontcha think? Even with a Justin Timberlake bra.
So there you have it, readers, MTV's Best Dressers - and we bet you didn't even think about the miserable weather once, did you? Good. So now it's time to bring in the verdict by casting your vote below...
