Last Night's Best Dressed: The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition

03 June 2011

Who wants to inspect the Best Dressers from last night's Royal Academy Summer Exhibition? Yes, yes: just as we suspected. You all do! Chanel ambassadors, Hollywood's fave 'Chadult' and more than a few fashionista types flaunted their glad rags at the Royal Academy of Arts in London, so while you sip on your morning coffee, let's see who wore what…

We begin with the glitzy-glam Chanel gals. Both Caroline Sieber and Laura Bailey donned Karl's feathery finery teamed with a slick of red lippy and nude heels, making for an impeccable turn out. And if you recognise Laura's baby blue frock, that's because it's the very same fluffy number which Emma Roberts wore to the fashion house's show in March, remember? Ooh, we feel a fash-off coming on...

Grazia Daily pal and avid supporter of vintage wear, Tali Lennox, provided some quirk thanks to this retro floral ankle-grazer topped off with a fab green fedora and bold blue heels while Jaime Winstone chose a punky floor-length bustier dress from Vivienne Westwood's Gold Label A/W '11 collection and equally bold metallic DM boots. How refreshing!

Going sleek and black for some evening-appropriate elegance, we have Ben Grimes and Roisin Murphy in Marios Schwab - and would you LOOK at Ben's new hair! Blonde, cropped and tomboyish, you say? Hmm, perhaps she's been taking inspiration from a certain Emma Watson...

Adorbz singer Eliza Doolittle cracked out her killer bod once again, this time courtesy of a plum pleated skirt by House of Holland teamed with a cheeky denim top over a leopard print bra, twinkling green heels and a staple Mulberry bag. Wowee. As for Bip Ling, what a colour-blocking delight she is! Kitted out in a frothy yellow Julien Macdonald S/S '11 mini-dress under a cobalt blue jacket adorned with cute bows, plus on-trend pink lips and Nicholas Kirkwood peep toes, little Ling is nothing but bright-tacular. LOVE. HER.

edie campbell saunders

Onto Edie Campbell who went for a more modest look with this biscuit coloured cotton dress from Jonathan Saunders' S/S '11 catwalk with a pair of matching socks peeping out from her manish brogues. School girl cool, anyone? And we finish with Chloe Moretz, the up-and-coming teen actress who looks chicer than we ever could have dreamed of aged 14. Last night's ensemble consisted of a Carven A/W '11 dress with a unique plaid wrap-around bodice a-top a black tulip skirt, accessorised with nothing more than a pair of Rupert Sanderson's Figaro bow sandals and a grown-up up 'do. Atta girl!
So what's the verdict please, people?
