SO! Gaga’s new wicky wacky photographic inventions hit the shops; or one shop – Bloomingdales to be precise – this week in the US of A. The gizmos are – a mini wireless printer that’ll print 3x4 inch prints of pics you have taken on your smart phone, a camera with an in-built printer (a bit like the trad polaroid cameras?) AND – the most Gaga item, some sunglasses using which you may film things AND watch them back (although those screens sound awfully close to the eyes, no? can that be good for you?) Perfect for wannabe Gagas to create their own videos with eyeballs stuck to their foreheads and long creepy talons made of Sellotape (top tip readers).
A spokesperson for Polaroid had this nugget of insight to offer; ‘For the 21st century, you can’t just think out of the box. You have to crush the box. That’s where Lady Gaga comes in’, well quite. With each product they have developed, Gaga’s part to play has been advising on ‘how do you live with it, how do you party with it and how do you make it cool’
Bloomingdales have an exclusive deal to sell the gizmos for a wee while (then they’ll go into other shops) and has celebrated by creating a window display featuring a Lady Gaga mannequin holding a camera that shoots anyone standing on a pixel on the pavement outside and projects a big printout. Anyone fancy a holiday to New York this summer?
This goes without saying but we’ll say it anyway; WANT WANT NEED!
