Brilliant portraits of the CFDA nominees!

31 May 2011

Alexander Wang

There are exactly six days to go before this year’s CFDA Awards – the US’s official Fashion Council body, and a considerably glitzy spot on the fashion/showbiz calendar. Nominees this year include the predictable - Alexander Wang and Jack McCollough & Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler will battle Marc Jacobs for the Womenswear Designer gong and there’ll be a Media Award for the wonderfully characterful outgoing Fashion Director of our own British newspaper, The Telegraph - Hilary Alexander, as well as a few more surprising proposals.

Like Lady Gaga for the Fashion Icon Award or the inclusion of the Olsen twins in the Swarovski Award for Womenswear category. Whatever you think of all that – let us know below AND in the meantime, we have got our hands on some incredible black and white portraits of a handful of the nominees by super-snappers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.

Wow! They have created these portraits for a journal of the awards. What do you think? Is there anyone on the list of nominees that you would like to see captured on film but don’t?
