Anyone who thought their K-Mid fashion obsession might wind down after the royal wedding dress had been finally been revealed should look away now. The Duchess of Cambridge has just appeared at Buckingham Palace (to meet the Obamas, no less - a fun first post-honeymoon appointment), wearing a foxy fitted taupe dress.
"Finally!" Grazia Daily thought.. "the rumours are true - Kate's wearing a design by Victoria Beckham!" That square neckline, those symmetrical pleats, the angular cap sleeves, that very VB S/S shade of beige. But no, because it turns out Duchess Catherine is continuing to keep it real (yes, even at Buckingham Palace to hang with the Queen and the President of the United States), by continuing her obsession with that other bastion of British fashion - the high street. Yep, that sexy sharp shift is by Reiss! It's the Shola Bandage Dress, and costs a mere £175 (hmm, how long before THAT style gets rechristened "Kate"?). Chic and sleek and demure enough for this occasion, while oh-so-subtly upstaging Michelle Obama in her Barbara Tfank Resort 2011 dress. Love.
This year Reiss is celebrating its 40th anniversary, and ain't this just the best birthday present of all?
**UPDATE!** This news just in: Kate is carrying The Maud (again, how long before etc etc) black silk clutch - part of the Anya Hindmarch Bespoke Collection
