Lucky for us, Cannes-arama is still going strong on t'uther side of the channel, but today the red carpet treats have arrived not from a gazillion premieres but from amfAR’s Cinema Against AIDS Gala, which was the hottest shindig in town last night. So who wore what, we hear you cry? Well, cry no more for here's our Best Dressed round-up...
Oh, Kiki-D, what a delight! How happy we are to see Kirsten Dunst staying true to her wonderfully whimiscal aesthetic with this feminine pale pink dress from Chanel's S/S '11 Couture catwalk. Thumbs up for clinching the waist with a dainty pink ribbon and keeping it girlie with a head-full of plaits and a slick of lippie. We swoon.
Uma Thurman also got her mitts on Chanel Couture and doesn't she look elegant? No surprises there then. And yes, she's wearing flats - good girl. Her A/W '08 grey gown splurges out at the hem to balance out the floral appliqué on the neckline, so no extra accessorising is needed, expect maybe for be-suited designer Kenneth Cole.
WOW. After walking the red carpet in a stunning jumpsuit earlier this week, Gwen Stefani was once again swathed in black sparkes for some amFAR fun. This mermaid number, with an interesting halterneck detail, is a self-designed creation from her L.A.M.B. line so of course she looked nothing but marvellous. And she's mastered the swept-back bouffant without going as big as Chezza. Oh, and we want that gold belt.
Onto Naomi Campbell in yet another delightful gown, this time from Riccardo Tisci's A/W'10 Couture collection for Givenchy. All that fringing, the embroidered lace, the blinging jewels add up to serve nothing but opulent glamour. Is this a hint of what's to come for Duran Duran's supermodel extravaganza, we wonder?
Ooh, this one's different, and we like (we think). Eschewing the standard floor-sweeping fare, Freida Pinto opted for a metallic pleated cocktail dress from Lanvin's Hiver collection, accessorised with her Brit boy, Dav Patel. Funky or too Christmas tree-y? You decide.
After attending Chanel's Resort 2012 show last week, Clemence Poesy has been hanging around the town, just waiting for the moment she can wear this sleek gown hot off Karl's catwalk. And what better moment than amFAR? The pleated monochrome dress is embellished with delicate pearls and Clem teamed it with a boxy clutch and gothic-style ring. She's becoming quite the master of minimalist chic, non?
Naturallement, the Roitfelds were in attendance and both were accessorising with bow-tied males - Kanye West for Carine, Robert Konjic for Julia (we wish our other halves would wear Mr Konjic's blue velvet suit). So while Roitfeld Snr was in a white cotton dress by Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy, teamed with an ostrich feathered jacket, her mini-me chose a sexy black halter gown from her fave designer, Emilio Pucci. What a complementary foursome they make.
We love how Milla Jovovich has transitioned from retro quirkiness to classic glam so seamlessly, and it's all thanks to this Atelier Versace gold gown, which comes complete with elegant draping and a saucy thigh-flash. We also love that she's gone full-on matchy-matchy with a gold clutch, gold T-strap platforms and a gold manicure.
Let's conclude our round-up with Milla's fellow model Karolina Kurkova and her dramatic decision to go short. Because when you have mile-long legs like that, why ever not? The Chanel A/W' 10 Couture dress KK's working here is heavily embellished with pearls a-plenty so all that's needed is a few extras wrapped around the wrist, plus a complementary clutch - et voila! Time to party with the best of them.
So that's your lot, folks, now tell us - who's the most amfAR-bulooous guest of them all? And don't forget to check out this video of Izzy Lawrence reporting from the red carpet with Cinemoi...
