Personal shopping at Topman

20 May 2011

These days simply everyone has a stylist. If you don’t yet, perhaps consider the new personal shopper service launching Monday by super egalitarian style merchants Topman. A strikingly modern and mannish space has been specially conceived by interior designer Lee Broom in Topman’s flagship shop on Oxford Street. There customers can come and get themselves styled up by one of five fashion insiders and five personal assistants from various areas of men’s style. Participants fill in a quick brief to get the correct stylist assigned, ranging from smart straight-runners to out and out fashion forward mentalists. You can then select from 1/2 hour express ‘fashion fix’ appointments, to 2 hour wardrobe overhauls.

The whole thing is  a remarkable leap forward in high street shopping for men. There’s even and Asahi ‘honesty’ bar. Does this mean one gets drunk speaks honestly about what you think of each others looks? Surely I need an overhaul appointment to find out.
