Fans of Croydon’s most famous daughter, a certain Miss Kate Moss will be touched to hear that her latest visit to her hometown caused quite a stir. (For those not in the know, it’s a lovely town on the southernmost reaches of London). Kate had requested that the next Rimmel ad be shot there and her chosen mode of transport was a helicopter, which landed on the roof of a local shopping centre – the Whitgift centre to be exact, causing a mini riot as word spread through the assembled shoppers that the chopper in fact belonged to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Ho ho ho. Talk about a case of mis-KATE-en identity.
Anyway, all’s well that ends well and anyway – what were they thinking? K-Mid has never been spotted in any shops further than a one mile radius out from Sloane Square and the Kings Road in swanky West London.
Kate MOSS eventually shot her campaign, we are assured, with free flowing locks, red lipstick and red patent stilettos, maybe as a sort of sartorial homage to her, very “down to earth" hometown. Can’t wait to see the finished pics!
