Michelle Williams, why must you be so brilliant at everything? No, we’re not talking to you, Destiny's Child singer – we, of course, mean the adorbz pixie-cropped cutie who staged a transformation before our very eyes, from random Dawson’s Creek gal to A-list actress, while stealing our style hearts along the way. And here she is in the latest issue of Interview Magazine looking as drop-dead-cool as ever.
And ‘cool’ is the word to describe this ice queen-esque cover. Because, sporting her silvery mop with barely-there brows while lying on a fur rug and pulling on a white knit, Michelle ditches that rosy-cheeked cuteness for a striking, sophisticated look. It’s less golden Reese Witherspoon, more edgy Tilda Swinton – and we like.
The shoot amps up the frosty vibe with images of the actress looking like a disorientated woman-child hiding in an eerily empty house - an impression that's enhanced by a baby blue Prada frock with Peter Pan collar, school-girl lace socks and Mary Janes, or a simple white Chanel shift worn with nothing but that trademark sullenness. Mesmorising, no?
So what else have we learnt? Well, Little Miss Williams has the greatest crop on earth (yes, you heard right, Emma Watson). And she left home to live in LA when she was just FifTEEN. Uh-huh. ‘I sat in frustration with a lot of cardboard boxes around me, eating Clif bars for dinner because I couldn’t cook,’ Michelle reveals. ‘I was making house, but at night, because no one was there telling me to go to bed.’ Oh, and did you know she’s Norwegian? That certainly works beautifully with all that bleached iciness. Plus, she enjoys weeing while wearing 1800s-style dresses. No, seriously.
And with that, it's official - we here in the Grazia Community are blighted with girl-crushing. To read more, hop on over to Interview's site here.
