A-list beauty Angelina Jolie is rumoured to have been signed up to be shot by Annie Leibowitz as the latest "face" for Louis Vuitton, with a reported fee of $10m.

Despite being regularly voted one of the most beautiful women in the world, the aptly-named Jolie has been extremely selective about the advertising campaigns she has starred in during her career. Her two previous modelling assignments were for luxury cosmetics company Shiseido, and classic fashion label St John, whose clothing Angelina has been known to wear; her three year contract with the brand ended last year.

Funnily enough, Angelina started her career as a model, aged 14. Mainly modelling for cheesy teen magazines and in swimwear. But her most high profile modelling work was more acting than posing - she featured in several music videos, including Lenny Kravitz's "Stand By My Woman", The Lemonhead's (remember them?) "It's About Time" and Meat Loaf's "Rock & Roll Dreams Come Through" (nope, we can't sing any of them either) before focusing on acting for her career.

It's not known if the Louis Vuitton campaign will feature Angelina modelling in the entire campaign for the new season's collection of ready to wear or accessories, a la Jennifer Lopez. In recent years, Louis Vuitton have assigned Annie Leibowitz to photograph a number of high profile figures - from Keith Richards to Sofia and Francis Ford Coppola and Sean Connery, for one-off portraits as a part of the luxury house's Journey series, with those photographed acting as Vuitton's "brand ambassadors" rather than models, and all fees going to support Al Gore's The Climate Project, as well as a charity of the ambassador's choice.  So now the question is - is this Angelina stepping up her modelling career, or is she continuing to promote her charity projects? Either way, she's going to look stunning...
