Lucky ol’ Lindsey Wixson. While our mums dragged us to BHS to pick out a polyester prom dress, Lindsey had a host of hot designers at the end of the blower, gagging to glam her up for her high school dance. Grr, some girls have all the luck.
But we can hardly blame the leggy model-of-the-moment for picking Jason 'I dressed Michelle Obama' Wu for the special occasion. Because not only has Linds patriotically chosen an American designer – just like fellow model Karlie Kloss who wore Oscar de la Renta for her homecoming – but Wu has risen to fashwan fame thanks to his polished, ladylike creations, perfect for prom. And so Lindsey’s frock is exactly that: an elegant off-the shoulder, knee-length number in cobalt blue with a ruched bodice that's totally age-appropriate for the 16-year-old school girl. Lindsey posted the first glimpse of the dress on her Twitter feed this weekend along with the excited squeal, 'Thank you everyone from...Jason Wu for helping make this possible!' Yes, kids, dreams really do come true.
Besides, the world already knows Lindsey looks wonderful in Wu. She’s modelled for the designer's New York Fashion Week show for the past three seasons and her pouty prettiness works perfectly with all that frou-frou detailing and playful cuteness.
Just one final thought, is Lindsey's dress reminding anyone else of this Bella Swan number? Uh oh, we may have a supermodel Twihard on our hands...
