Kate Middleton’s sleek midnight blue silk suit sent bloggers into a frenzy yesterday. WHO had designed it?
Well, we can reveal the suit is by none other than Brit designer Amanda Wakeley. Naturellement, we called her to get the lowdown…
Amanda admits that she has ‘no idea’ how Kate ended up wearing her suit yesterday, especially as it is a design from a past season that the Princess-to-be has never been spotted in before.
Of course Wakeley was ‘delighted’ that Kate chose to wear one of her designs, especially on ‘her last public engagement before her wedding’. The designer’s verdict? ‘I think she looked fantastic.’
According to Wakeley, Kate’s choice of outfit showed a subtle, but meticulous attention to detail (which bodes well for her ever-evolving sense of style); ‘I love the fact that the colour of the suit echoes the deep sapphire of her engagement ring.’
And finally, we just had to ask Amanda the $64, 000 question: are you designing the royal wedding dress? Wakeley remains terribly, terribly discreet ‘whoever is designing it is incredibly lucky...’
Hmm. Could this be another designer’s name that we need to add to our list of suspects?
