Now that the fashion flurry of award ceremonies is over, it’s been a virtual Best Dressed wasteland with not one red carpet parade to satisfy Grazia Daily's sartorial hunger >sad face< OK, there’s been the odd pretty dress that goes in one eye and out the other, but nothing that's reeeally got us all a-flutter. Until last night when a stylish get-together provided more fancy-pants than we could possibly have wished for in this long month of March. Yup, praise be for Christie's Green Auction, which took place in New York City yesterday, complete with an eco-friendly catwalk show, a Miss Minaj performance and a guest-list teeming with fashionistas. Hallelujah! So don your style savvy hats and join us in our inspection of the event’s Best Dressers...
We begin with the Queens of our Fashwan Heart. Diane Kruger added to her flawless oeuvre thanks to an elegant Jason Wu frock complete with a full-skirted cream underlay hot off the designer’s A/W ‘11 catwalk, which she accessorised with a matching clutch, gold statement earrings and a beautifully messy side plait, while Olivia Palermo maintained the pizzazz by turning to Rachel Roy for a mix of lace, feathers and striking prints befitting a bonafide style icon. Oh, how we love you ladies.
As for Nicki Minaj, she is, naturally, in a league of her own. Because not only is she pulling off a rather marvellous PVC and leather leotard, but N.Minz has geniously found a two-tone bonkers bouffant to match that hedged backdrop. What a clever young lady she is!
Onto Zoe Kravitz who looks totally cool, no? Her black-on-black combo emits an aura of effortless chic that’s hard to fault, and proving that it never hurts to whip out a noir floor-sweeper, model Angela Lindvall kept things classic in her twinkling maxi dress complemented by super-sleek locks.
And finally, fash-land heavyweights including Anna Wintour, Tamara Mellon and Rachel Roy polished off the pristine display with a set of sophisticated dresses. So in all, we’re pretty impressed with the turn out. Are you?
