Is Hailee Steinfeld Miuccia’s New Muse?

10 March 2011

We’ve been harping on about Chadults for a while now - y’know, the child adults who are rich, famous, and taking over Hollywood. But in recent months, the tween queen frontrunner is undeniably Hailee Steinfeld. At the tender age of 14, she’s already bagged a starring role in the critically acclaimed True Grit and a Best Supporting Actress nomination at last month’s Oscars. But the real reason Hailee has caught Grazia Daily’s eye is her wonderful wardrobe...

It all began at the SAG Awards when the adorable newcomer wowed the fash pack with a gown from Prada’s S/S ‘11 catwalk. The magenta, black and tangerine striped dress with a flounced hem hit the perfect tone between grown-up glamour and youthful quirkiness, with Andre Leon Talley hailing it as an example of flawless red carpet dressing. 'It was on the rack [at my fitting] and it was the first thing that caught my eye,' Hailee told Fashionista. 'Normally I like to save the best for last in case nothing else works but I tried it on first and I didn’t try anything else on because that was it, I loved it.'

Next up, Hailee arrived at the Berlin Film Festival in another of Miuccia Prada’s bold creations. This time, she chose a colourful satin Miu Miu dress with a dramatic Swan print, sensibly toned down by modest black heels and a ballerina bun. And lest we forget the BAFTAs! For the Brit ceremony, the starlet turned once again to Miu Miu and looked like a mini grown-up in a black ricamo duchesse dress with a glitzy bodice and peplum waist. Yup, another triumph on Hailee’s route to style icon status...

So having nailed these fashion hits, we were hardly surprised to see Little Miss Steinfeld gracing Miuccia’s FROW at the Miu Miu show in Paris yesterday. She was the designer’s “special guest”, no less, and looked as chic as ever in an elegant shift with cascading ruffles at the collar.

All this Prada-rama has got the blogosphere frothing with rumours that Hailee has caught the all-powerful Prada eye and could be Miuccia’s new muse. We, personally, couldn’t imagine a better poster girl for the brand but is it a case of too much too young? Give us your thoughts, below...
