Who wields the greatest FROW power of them all? Chanel, of course! So it came as no surprise to see a bevvy of dedicated stylistas bagging their VIP seats for Karl Lagerfeld's latest flight of fancy, which took place in Paris earlier today. With some serious big-hitters, we thought it only right to bring you the lowdown on what they wore. Hmm, could this be the starriest moment of the season? You decide...
Our beloved Alexa Chung arrived wearing an adorable embroidered frock with puffy sleeves and bow detailing that's reminding us of a Shakespearean costume and - quelle horreur - isn't Chanel! She kept the look as sweet-as-pie thanks to a cosy pair of tights and pointy flats. Fellow Brit Florence Welch, who's fast becoming a regular FROWer, stood out from the crowd thanks to an individualistic floaty skirt of swirly-wirly patterns teamed with a matching jacket, straight from Uncle Karl's S/S '11 collection, which she wore with purple booties and that flame-coloured hair.
Emma Roberts looked like a French fancy herself thanks to Chanel's baby blue S/S '11 dress trimmed with feathers, but wisely edged all the fluffiness up with a pair of metallic heels. Meanwhile, Duffy kept things simple in a tweed shift from the French fashion house's Cruise collection, worn with black ballet pumps and well, little else.
How great it is to see Lagerfeld muse, Lily Allen back on the scene despite not singing us a tune this time. Instead, Lils stayed wrapped up in an emerald coat enlivened up a quilted red bag and matching lippy. According to WWD, the popstar arrived at Chanel’s studios this afternoon and revealed, “I’m here to see Karl for my wedding dress.” Eeep! What a lucky lass. Leigh Lezark followed suit with her S/S '11 outwear that suited her signature noir palette and is just a leetle scary, y'know?
Clemence Poesy and Caroline Sieber both opted for S/S '11 jackets worn with thigh-scraping black skirts but it was La Sieb who dared to bare her legs. Brrr!
And last but not least, we have the editors du jour: Anna Wintour, Anna Dello Russo and Vogue Italia's Giovanna Battaglia. Hooray for the Annas who brought some spring-like floral fun thanks to their flamboyant skirts. Chanelegance, indeed! Now tell us, who's your fave?
