With the Yves Saint Laurent show imminent today, the internet is full of yet MORE Pilati news – that he is STAYING at the brand. He told the New York Times that constantly reading/hearing about his imminent demise has upset him. ‘You know, it affects me,’ he said on Tuesday in the Yves Saint Laurent atelier on the Avenue George V in

Poor old Stefano. The core of the matter is, that since he became creative director of the brand in 2004, the business has gone from making losses of estimated by the New York Times to be around £61 million annually, to a profit of about £9 million this year.
The latest thing to hit the beleaguered Yves Saint Laurent designer were some tweets (which were removed shortly after the whole world had seen them) by the PR at a rival brand, saying that the designer at a well known fashion house where the CEO had very recently departed, would soon be leaving himself! Mr Pilati, who is said to be furious about the whole situation, has taken the unusual step of responding to, rather than ignoring the persistent whispers, saying; ‘I don’t let it go,' he said. 'What is it about? I should be here, thinking about how beautiful my job is, and come to the office every day and work with colors and fabrics. But no, you have something that undermines you.’
Fear not, Grazia readers, for as soon as we know anything concrete, you shall be the first to find out!
