At yesterday’s catwalk there was no end-of-show bow from the designer, while new stylist, Melanie Ward (who's replaced new French Vogue editor Emmanuelle Alt) handled the post-show interviews, saying ‘the collection is inspired by workwear.’
One blog reported that Decarnin checked into ‘a mental hospital’ as far back as January, although there's no evidence to substantiate this. Meanwhile the Balmain boss, Alain Hivelin, offered the Telegraph's Hilary Alexander a much less scandalous explanation: ‘He's tired, after working on the collection. . . He’s not here, he’s resting.’
