We love a club here at Grazia Daily – the get-togetherness with like-minded folk, the smug feeling of actually doing something worthwhile with our precious spare time. And yes, we're quite partial to the tea and cakes that go along with such events - especially one called The Crafternoon Tea Club at London’s Barbican centre. So, if you're looking for something interesting, fun and very very cool to do this weekend look no further than tomorrow and Sunday’s Fash Mash!
The aim behind the whole event is to help ‘transform unwanted articles and garments that could have otherwise ended up in a landfill into DIY individualised fashions and art.' Sound good? Then go along with any tees, buttons and ribbons and any leftover paraphernalia from that art project you’ve been putting off and…create! You get to walk away with whatever you make at the end of the day for free, so start foraging, people and do us proud! The lovely folk behind the event have been stockpiling raw materials including, glue, sewing kits, spray paint, scissors etc, while some of our favourite brands like Whistles, American Apparel and Made have donated goods. Oh, and there’ll be mash-ups of the musical kind from the super-cool Gaggle DJs as well as games.
Nuff said. Go along, have fun, create and help transform something that we like to call a ‘future pain in the behind for the charity shop’ into...well, we’ll leave that up to you!
FASH MASH! party at The Barbican starts on Saturday 5th of March from 11am to 10pm (break from 6-7!) and Sunday 6th from 11am to 6pm. For more information visit www.facebook.com and www.barbican.org.uk
