We're LIVE Blogging the Oscars Red Carpet!

28 February 2011

Ok, we're not in LA but we're in the next best place: Soho House London to live-blog the red carpet. Let's hope for some Tom Ford dresses (on Ju lianne Moore) and Hailee Steinfeld to pick up best supporting actress. More as it happens...

23:07 And we're off. It's Jennifer Lawrence in a strappy red number. V sexy. But red carpet appropriate?

23:13 We'd be scared if we were James Franco and Anne Hathaway. Love both of them but so much potential to go wrong.

23: 15 Wow, Mila Kunis in lavender. We want to see more of that one...

23:16 Melissa Leo's left her Fighter hair at home (shame) but wearing a Marc Bouwer mirror shatter dress Ryan Seacrest can see himself in. Original.

ign: left;">23:18 Did you know they have hand-held fans they keep the stars cool with before they go on camera on the red carpet? Fact dropping times, kids.

23:24 Florence Welch in Valentino. Wow, we love. So happy she's achieving such success. And still working that vintage vibe.

23:26 Mila Kunis in Elie Sabb.

23: 27 Hailee Steinfeld: 'I drew out the exact dress I wanted to wear and Marchesa made it up'. Ah, sweet. Actually, jealous!

23: 28 We're seeing a lot of nudes: Michelle Williams, Mandy Moore (?) and Hailee Steinfeld.

23:24 Russell Brand's is in the house. But no Katy P because she's performing in Europe. Boring. We miss her experimental style.

23:35 Michelle Williams (stunning in Chanel) didn't let her 5 year old daughter watch Blue Valentine. No surprises there then!

23:39 Amy Adams is sparkling too in L'Wren Scott and Cartier jewels. She's cute. But could have brushed her hair

23:42 Jennifer Hudson & Anne Hathaway take the red carpet in red. So that means, nude, red and sparkling are the key trends so far.

23:44 All quite restrained so far. Where's our Bjork swan moment? Or even semi-swan moment?

23:52 It's so funny seeing their assistants running around with huge tote bags carrying all their A-listers belongings

00.01 Justin Timberlake's hit the red carpet. HOTTTTTTT!

00.02 Scarlett J in Dolce & Gabanna burgundy lace. Love her new hair. Not loving the circle of shame on E!'s coverage

00.03 Kevin Spacey's wearing Burberry. Sharp.

00.09 Kelly O lost for words on Melissa Leo's dress.

00.10 JT (in Tom Ford) looks likes he's with his mum. Ahh. First Russell, then him and do we have a third that makes a trend?

00.21 Hilary Swank in Gucci. Major feathers. Like the hair swept up but wouldn't mind some more jewels

00.22 Stephen Spielberg's daughter is 14. And on the Oscar red carpet. We kinda hate her. She looks cute though. And sweeet he bought her

00.23 Keep coming back to Jennifer Lawrence. And you know what her simplicity looks beautiful

00.25 Helena BC didn't do Westwood! Shock horror! But she worked with costume designer C oleen Atwood to make an 1880s style dress 'that makes my bum look  bigger than it is'. And still wearing sunglasses on red carpet.

00.30 Massive cheer greets Colin Firth on red carpet here at Soho House

00.31 Halle Berry in nude, sparkly and a bit of chiffon. Shocker!

00.32 Reese Witherspoon looks v Julia Roberts Valentino vintage moment but diiiivine. Black and white always works. She looks hot.

00.32 Nicole Kidman on the other hand....

00.37 We want Christian Bale to pick up the Oscar. But we want him to ditch the beard.

00.40 Kelly O on Gwyneth's Calvin Klein: 'That's such a lack of detail but so much detail on that dress'. We say, amazing dress, but lose the belt.

00.44 Sandra Bullock says she has goosebumps with her Vera Wang dress. Who said LA was always gorgeously sunny?

00.57 Natalie Portman wearing Rodarte, who of course worked on the costumes for Black Swan. Supporting the Rodarte girls despite the controversy....

1.00 Final thoughts: We can't believe it's all over for another year. Disappointed by the lack of bling. Loving Jennifer Lawrence's simplicity and Cate Blanchett's experimental outfit. Now bring on the show.... (Actually, we might go to bed!)
