Hot off LFW’s FROW, Alexa Chung continued to champion our homegrown talent at last night's NME Awards with a couple of um, out-of-this-world stunners. First up, for her red carpet entrance, our fashion hero sported Christopher Kane’s magical intergalactic print with a touch of foxy black leather around the neckline. Do you recognise it? Do you? Do you? That’s because it’s the very same Cruise dress Rosamund Pike wore earlier this year. Ooh fash-off anyone?
This one's a tough call considering both ladies played it fairly similarly - allowing the print to take centre stage by keeping their accessories simple and covering up with a pair of tights and black heels. But considering Alexa added a splash of spring colour with those pretty lilac nails, we’re giving her this one. Are you?
Onto the afterparty and it was time for a quick change for Miss Chung who slipped into yet another Christopher Kane number. And guess what? We’ve seen this one before too, on the back of a certain Carey Mulligan. Cripes! Luckily, AC’s brought her own quirky twist to the look with a zip-up front that leads to a preppy collar and halterneck. Bravo! So what say you to Alexa's double dose of Kane doppelgänging? We can only assume it’s down to her love for our Chris - the designer she once described as ‘perfect’. Aww.
So what of the rest of the attendees? Well, Marina and her lack of Diamonds rolled up in a gob-smacking 80’s-inspired ensemble consisting of a floaty white floor-sweeper funked up by a florescent head scarf a-top her very-Winehouse beehive, finger-less gloves and a giant crucifix. Oh, and some eye-wateringly fluoro lips. Hmm, very in’eeresting...
And here’s Bip Ling, blogger extraordinare. What glossy hair she has! We’re loving her colour-blocking green Lacoste shorts teamed with a smart-shirt-but-not-a-smart-shirt top and those fierce Nicholas Kirkwood heels. Lovely jubbly!
Onto Marc Ronson’s fiancee, Josephine De La Baume, who always knows how to hit the fashion nail on the head and last night, she did it again with her gypsy-inspired frock fringed with neon pink tassels. Top marks for creating such sweet primness undercut by a naughty pant-flash and those stompy lace-up boots.
Meanwhile, Juliette Lewis was getting cosy with er, Jameela Jamil and we’re happy to see both J’s providing the soiree with a touch of metallic sparkle and rock glam. Genius trousers, Jules! We want.
And finally, it wouldn’t be a real rock ‘n’ roll party without Kate Moss. Structured leather? An ankle-biting length? A polo neck? Yep, our beloved Mosskins was spotted at the shindig rocking this Miss-Whiplash-meets-Batwoman gown that's sauntered straight off Pam Hogg's A/W '11 catwalk. We're appreciating how quick Mossy is at snapping this one up but blimey, it's gotta be pretty hot in there...
