Did you like the look of Marc Jacobs’ kinky, wipe-clean dots-on-the-brain show earlier this week? Thinking about decking your own pad out in padded silver grey vinyl? (Just us then), well, brace yourself ladies, that stuff does NOT come cheap. According to the New York Times, Marc’s business partner Robert Duffy told them he estimated the total cost of the show production to be ‘It could be more, but it’s definitely at least $1 million.’ (about £616716.72) Wowsers!
Let’s break that figure down . . . it seems a hefty portion of that went on the aforementioned vinyl – all 1,100 yards of it to create the 20 foot columns that adorned the runway. Additional costs include the 50 hairdressers who weaved £100 worth of human hair hair extensions on to 63 models, plus the 35 makeup artists, the 70 dressers, models and the company that actually produces the show.
Yikes! What was the figure spent on chin straps?
