When the Grazia Daily team was asked if we would like to attend The Brit Awards and fiercely grill the stars on their fashion choices, we thought about it for a whole 0.25 of a second before we responded ‘YES! Yes please!’ And off we went!
The performer with the biggest buzz around her was the inimitable Jessie J. As winner of the critics choice award, and one of the most hyped ‘ones to watch’ of 2011, we grabbed the
Next, who should we meet but Eliza Doolittle! The lovely lady was wearing one of the teeniest tiniest dresses of the night – a white techno-knit mini by Brit favourite Mark Fast. We are LOVIN’ the pink and purple fringing across the bottom - watch it in action with our nifty video.
Then the sublime Ellie Goulding arrived sporting a toga-like Vivienne Westwood gown. She looked very relaxed and talked us through her outfit – with her sparkly shoes by Louboutin and vintage gold Chanel pendant - ‘I’m going to wear it everyday for the rest of my life!’ she squealed. Ellie was also rocking pink-tinted hair just like a My Little Pony. Tres cool indeed.
And here comes Rumer, who was wearing a custom-made dress by her stylist Susan Hildebrand teamed with sparkly shoes by Anna Seth, which she took off to show us! Aw, what is she like?
Who else do we love? Mark Ronson. He was looking ultra-dapper in his customary slim-fit Gucci suit and filled us in about his ever-changing hair, saying, ‘I never plan my hair in advance, my hair plans me’. We're not 100% sure what he means by that but our knees felt rather weak after that meeting...
Another visitor at the Grazia section of the velvet rope was pint-sized Canadian rocker Avril Lavigne. Yes! She was wearing a textural Julien Macdonald dress with a bejewelled bodice, which managed to look red carpet approriate without losing her rrrrrocky credentials thanks to those amazing Rainbow Brite-style streaks in her hair. Nicki Minaj's influence seems to be making itself felt all over the world of haircare, we thought to ourselves.
Next it was on to the awards themselves where we saw Rihanna doing her thang, our Chez taking to the stage and, of course, Adele bringing a tear to our eye with that beautiful warbling of hers. What a brilliant way to spend a Tuesday night!
