OOOH, BREAKING NEWS! Net-a-Porter has just announced its first ever celebrity stars and the lovely ladies are...>drum roll please<...our very own Alexa Chung and the brilliantly bonkers Anna Dello Russo! In the past, Net-a-Porter has used models rather than familiar faces to showcase their wares for the print magazine so this is an exciting leap for the luxury etailer, not to mention another chance for us to coo over our favourite trendsetters.
And let the coo-ing commence! These sneak peeks show Alexa and Anna working the most covetable looks from the S/S ‘11 collections. Here's the Chung bringing her trademark dollop of Brit cool to Erdem’s beyond-beautiful lace frock (LOVE that flaring skirt!), which Michelle Williams brought to the red carpet last year.
Meanwhile, Dello Russo is pretty in pink thanks to her silk-organza Roksanda Ilincic number, topped off with some typically wacky fare – well, we wouldn’t expect anything less than a lobster hat from ADR, right?
So why pick these two? As bonafide trendsetters with permanent VIP seats on the FROW, the fashion retailer wisely picked them ‘at a time when the spot light is as equally focused on the front row as the runway’. And now that Fashion Month is in full swing, our fashion hungry eyes will be looking to them more than ever. A very smart move, NAP!
‘Both Chung and Dello Russo are recognised and celebrated for their individual personal styles and each perfectly captures this season’s opposing key trends,’ our Net-a-Porter pals tell us. ‘Chung for her languid, masculine, distinctive cool-girl chic and Dello Russo for her bold, inimitable flamboyance.’
To see the full shoot of the dynamic duo, you can buy the magazine from Wednesday when it goes on sale on the site. In the meantime, we want to hear your thoughts on the telly presenter and Vogue Japan editor gracing NAP’s glossy pages. We can’t think of two better gals to show us how to work the latest trends, but in light of Niki Taylor’s controversial comments yesterday, would you rather Alexa and Anna stick to their day jobs? Let us know below...
