Oh. My. If you’re sitting in a strip-lit office right now, blinds blocking out the natural light (although we did all admire the dazzling sunshine this morning on our way in). If you are idly deciding what colour to do your nails, or which sandwich to have for lunch, then might we direct your eyes to this VISION OF LOUCHENESS? Yes. Thought we could.
Basically, VOGUE ITALIA has linked in this season’s general retro hotness; the Roaring Twenties (or should that be the Decadent Forties?) with the most luxurious examples of this coming form the likes of Tom Ford, Louis Vuitton and Marc Jacobs (we also spotted Versace and Lanvin in the mix) with one its customary all-black-models editorial shoots.
The story is entitled Black Allure, with a "Harlem Renaissance" theme (that’ll be TWENTIES then) featuring the top tier of black female models in the industry: Rose Cordero, Sessilee Lopez, Ajak Deng, Arlenis Sosa Peña, Chanel Iman, Kinee Diouf, Lais Ribeiro, Georgie Baddiel, Jourdan Dunn, Joan Smalls, Melodie Monrose and Mia Aminata Niaria. It was shot by Emma Summerton and styled by Edward Enninful. We like the shoot and LOVE this cheeky backstage video – although it is so slickly edited it doesn’t really appear very ‘backstage’ to us though, it gives a lovely atmospheric feeling.
What do you think of the vid and the shoot? Let us know below . ..
