The funny thing about style icons is how quickly they come and go. Only a few years ago it would have been unthinkable (ish) to get dressed in the morning without first having a quick look at what the indie actresses du jour were wearing; Kirsten Dunst in all those kooky boy-girl looks with flat shoes and Heidi hair; or Chloe Sevigny and her latest high-waisted, 80-tastic outfits years before you could buy it all off-the-peg at American Apparel.

To be honest, today we're more likely to be looking to Alexa or Olivia Palermo for our style inspiration.

It feels like Dunst disappeared off the radar for a while after starring in How To Lose Friends And Alienate People way back in 2008. But she's recently reappeared; both on screen (she's set to star in the likely-to-be-huge forthcoming American beat classic On The Road), and also in fashion circles. While Sevigny has been co-designing an in-house collection for US edgy fashion store Opening Ceremony; Kiki can now be seen modelling in the new season look book for hipster-geek label Band of Outsiders (sold at Joseph and Dover Street Market in the UK).

With that distinctive baby blonde hair, and dressed in a very-Dunst school-girly white pleated skirt with quirky silver brogues, the 28 year old actress does look supercute (although, to be fair, with that level of Hipstamatic blurriness any of us could be supermodels). Anyway, we like the feel of these sunny Spring's-on-its-way photos, and the warm fuzzy feeling of nostalgia it gives us to see Dunst doing her style icon thing again.

What do you think of Kirsten Dunst's modelling skills? Let us know, below....
