What to wear to the couture part 3 - MY HAIRSPIRATION!

As part of my big grande Paris makeover, I decided to take the liberty of having my hair spruced up at the new, but extremely fabulous, BLEACH salon – only slightly confusingly located inside WAH nails in Dalston.

First of all my stylist, the wicked Alisha (all the stylists at BLEACH also work on shoots for ace fashion editorial when they are not creating masterpieces in the salon), gets to work making my head dead oily with oil. At first I went along with this strange procedure mainly out of politeness but the benefits were about to become apparent in not much time at all. . .

Next up, Alisha covers all my manky roots with bleach and leaves me to percolate for a couple of hours. Sharmadean Reid, the founder of WAH, stylist and all round fashion genius tells me all about working with Nicola Formichetti, watching Big Fat Gypsy Weddings, and her life story so far (more of which another time). She is mega-preggers but tells me she’ll be able to give birth at home any time this week because now she has got her right hair in (?)

Now, an hour or so into the treatment, the reason for the oil at the beginning becomes apparent, because, instead of the usual excruciating bleach stinging and itching on my scalp (also known as ‘the ants of fire’), I can’t feel anything. Regular suicide blondes like myself will never tell of the pain we go through – but let me tell you ladies, THIS is the future.

Now the bleaching is all done and all I need is a pink rinse and a bit of a trim-up.

LOOK! The big reveal, when I take the towel off and see my glorious pink locks for the first time! WOWSERS!

All trimmed off now and happy as can be. Watch out for my other big reveal from Paris later this week...

BLEACH’s next salon will be in TOPSHOP Oxford Circus from Feb 13th – just in time for fashion week! Get involved!
