With such a superstar name, it was always going to be a doddle for Arizona Muse to cause a buzz. Oh, and that raggedly chic crop, hippie vibe and those striking brows probably help too. So with fash-land falling at her feet in 2011, how did the New Mexico native and mother of one become the Next Big Thing?

The frenzy kicked off last September during Ms Muse’s runway debut. She dominated New York Fashion Week, walking for industry heavyhitters including Marc Jacobs and Proenza Schouler before jetting across the pond to become Miuccia’s latest protégé. Opening and closing for both Miu Miu and Prada is no easy feat.

Next, the catwalker scored her first major campaigns – solo spots, no less, for Prada and Yves Saint Laurent's Spring ’11 ads.

THEN the 20-year-old was shot through Steven Meisel’s lens while wearing Chanel and posing alongside Freja Beha Erichsen for the cover of Italian Vogue.
And this month she’s bagged the greatest coup of all: Anna Wintour’s seal of approval.
In the recent issue of US Vogue, Wintour describes the model-of-the-moment as ‘individualistic’ and ‘a gorgeous, smart, grown-up’ who was ‘the breakout star at the Spring 2011 shows.’ Not only that, she also compares her to two of the world's biggest superduper models: ‘When I look at Arizona, I see shadows of Linda Evangelista and Natalia Vodianova.' Wowee.
So with La Wintour’s backing, Arizona’s ascension is only set to accelerate. Besides, as the Editrix says, ‘how could anyone resist someone with that name?’ Well, exactly.
