Gather round readers for your latest Tom Ford news! For today’s installment, we bring you the first glimpse of the designer’s glossy campaign for his much-hyped womenswear collection and guess what? It’s just as divine as expected.
Although Mr Ford had a parade of 32 superstars on his S/S ‘11 catwalk, he couldn’t possibly cram every one of the muses he affectionately calls ‘Swans’ into the ad. So who did he chose? Himself, of course! Oh, and Abbey Lee Kershaw. Next Models snapped the billboard in Beverly Hills so although the duo’s sensual moment is obstructed by palm trees and a ‘For Lease’ sign (so unslightly, dahlings), they still look just faaabulous.
Kershaw was recently crowned The New Supermodel and is the current face of Ford’s eyewear collection so it’s no wonder he called on her services once again. You’ll remember she waltzed down the catwalk in September wearing a power-shouldered skirt-suit topped off with a cloche hat over her peroxide bob (watch it in action here). But for the campaign, she wears the stunning cobalt blue gown originally created for Marisa Berenson, accessorised with bold red lips.
So do you think Ford made the right choice by picking ALK? She might be a bonafide model but would you rather have seen Julianne? Or Beyonce? Or (GASP!) Daphne in the campaign? Over to you, peeps.
