Emmanuelle's appointment at Vogue Paris!

07 January 2011

Breaking news! We’re très excited to announce that Emmanuelle Alt has just been revealed on twitter 45 mins ago as the successor to Carine Roitfeld as Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Paris at a press conference in Paris, literally just one hour ago! Her appointment will be effective from February the 1st.

Ending fierce speculation as to who would be brave enough to fill the shoes of Carine Roitfeld, who during her 10-year tenure at the French magazine redefined the role and image of the quintessential editor, Alt is the one. She has been close to Carine at every show and in her 10 years as Fashion Editor has created an equally recognisable look, albeit with a more androgynous edge.

The Chairman of Condé Nast France, Xavier Romanet, has said, “Vogue Paris is doing very well and I wanted to entrust the editorship to someone who can provide continuity while bringing new life.” Alt added, “It's a great honour for me, but also a great pleasure." We can’t wait to see the magazine under Emmanuelle’s direction. Félicitations, Emmanuelle!
