A Year in the Style of Carey Mulligan

30 December 2010

We're in no doubt that the double issue of Grazia, jam-packed with glittering celebrities and more stylish numbers than Alexa Chung's closet, has become an essential part of your survival this Christmas - which means you will, naturally, have seen The Grazia Best Dressed List of 2010. It was a tough call, but we whittled down our favourite red-hot fashion divas so you could vote on who deserved to be crowned the Best Dressed of 2010. And after all your help, alongside a panel of expert judges, the results are displayed for all to see in the magazine. So today, we take a moment to pay homage to The List's newcomer: Ms Carey Mulligan, because, well, she's had quite a year, hasn't she?

C.Mullz first blipped onto our style radars back in February with her pixie crop and cutesy looks - oh, and did we mention an Oscar nomination? - followed by a spectacular summer of 50s dresses, including the Prada one everyone wanted (above centre). In fact, her penchant for Prada creations caused Grazia Daily to ask whether the elfin ingénue is fast becoming Miuccia's new muse?

Since then, the girl hailed as ‘the new Audrey Hepburn’ has settled on a new signature style, and has left behind her younger wardrobe in favour of a sleeker, sexier look including Chanel, Peter Pilotto, Preen and Vionnet.

In 2011, we can expect Carey's fashion fairytale to continue as we see her star alongside Keira Knightley in 'Never Let Me Go', as well as Leonardo DiCaprio in 'The Great Gatsby'. Bring it on, we say! But what say you? Are you looking forward to more red carpet wonders from Ms Mulls? Let us know below!
