Before last Thursday night’s Grazia Christmas Book Club, we obviously loved Nigella Lawson for her “eat butter/cream/chocolate” mantras and easy-peasy and sexy-stylish recipes. But after Grazia Book Club... OH MY GOODNESS the entire Grazia staff is now IN LOVE with the TV chef on a demented, obsessional level. Not only is she as erudite and down-to-earth as you would hope, but she is also movie-star beautiful (at 50) and utterly hilarious; like, properly funny in a way that made us determined to make her our new BFF and drag her down the pub.
And it turns out Nigella loves Grazia too. Given the opportunity to ask the Domestic Goddess anything in the post-interview Q+A session, obviously Grazia Daily passed up the opportunity to ask about roasting times and brining in order to ask the question on every Grazia reader’s mind; ‘what are you wearing?’
And the answer pleased us very much…
‘What I’m wearing is inspired by Grazia! It’s a Donna Karan - it’s a skirt and top. You had a piece about the dress version. I first thought; “I don’t know if I could really wear that” but I got hold of the dress. Unfortunately it had sold out in the colour you mentioned’.
[Yep, this is the problem with what is known in shops worldwide as the Grazia Effect…]
She also told us ‘When we film we have to write down what I’m wearing and when I wear the dress… it’s known as “the Grazia dress” even though it is, in fact, Donna Karan… which is not really fair on Donna Karan...’
And, FYI, Nigella teamed her foxy black Grazia dress with a cropped black jacket by Michael Kors and ruched black stretch suede knee high boots with killer stiletto heels by Christian Louboutin.
We literally LOVE her.
