The award for a brand that has pioneered digital initiatives has gone to Burberry! Surely no surprise to anyone in the industry as Burberry have consistently defied the naysayers and the technophobes to keep on pushing the Burberry message in all the digital forms you’ve heard of – plus a few you haven’t! With over three million (!) fans on Facebook, 3D catwalk shows streamed live to its shops around the world while the online Burberry community watched at home, constant twitter updates and giveaways, innovative websites, including the Art of the Trench, and 3D interactive ad campaigns. Christopher Bailey has also used the fashion label’s online platform to champion the music of his favourite bands (as well as recruiting good looking indie frontmen to model for him) by releasing a Burberry album.

The brand keeps going from strength to strength, both in terms of profile and sales. This year has seen sales continue to buck the recession while former wizard-in-training Emma Watson has found her fashion spurs thanks to a little help from Burberry and their elegant trenchcoats, which will shortly be available in customized form!

On the red carpet, before being presented his award by the beautiful Emma Roberts and Douglas Booth (Full title – Douglas ‘Sexy Face’ Booth), Mr Bailey had this to say to Grazia Daily; 'The highlight of our 2010 has been designing the new collection - which you will see in 2011!' See? This man is always looking to the future! He had also lost track of the number of awards they were nominated for - Menswear, Brand of the Year AND Digital Innovation. Bless! So modest!

Congratulations to Christopher and the whole Burberry team! Watch what he had to say after picking up the accolade...
