Tod's to fund the renovation of the Colosseum in Rome!

‘Ip ‘ip Ooooh –rah! Or, for those of you who don’t speak Italian, Hurrah! And three cheers for luxury handbag brand, Tod’s, who today confirmed that the Tod’s Group is prepared to finance the entire restoration project of the Colosseum in Rome. I know! The Italian government announced in September that in order to spruce up one of its most recognisable monuments, it was looking for corporate sponsors to chip in, as the state didn’t have enough money itself.

Well done Tod’s, what a fantastic gesture. President of the Tod’s group, Diego Della Valle said, 'We believe that because the Tod’s Group is a strong global representative of ‘Made in Italy’, it is both an honour and our duty to contribute to the support of our country’s image and credibility, as well as it’s cultural heritage.'

But what will they get in return for this act of generosity? Possible Tod’s billboards outside the monument, should scaffolding go up, OR perhaps they will open a little shoe shop inside?
