Anya BAGS director role at the BFC!

22 November 2010

Fresh from the news that Anya Hindmarch has become a government envoy for trade, we've just heard that she has also taken up position as the new non-executive Director of the British Fashion Council. Her role is the one that Hilary Riva performed until last month when she stepped down after five years at the BFC.

Harold Tillman CBE, Chairman of the British Fashion Council, said ‘Anya will make a great addition to our team. She brings with her huge experience from both the design and retail sector and will be invaluable as we move towards our future plans.’

Anya's fashion flair has taken her from a self starter aged 19 to the queen of a retail empire with 54 stores around the world, and uber cool stockists like Dover Street Market in London, Colette in Paris and Corso Como in Milan. She seems to be turning into a Diane von Furstenberg-type fashion ambassador/role model at the moment, what with her recent MBE from the Queen and that role for David Cameron as an overseas trade envoy. Congratulations once again!
