Royal dress guess betting FRENZY!

18 November 2010

Grazia Daily were in there first, with our Great Royal Wedding Dress Sweepstake  but, while ours was just for fun, the real

As you might remember from Oscar time, we are quite partial to a fashion flutter. You see – everyone likes idea of gambling, don’t they (potential FREE MONEY!) but, when it comes to placing bets, we don’t care about boring old horse races, football or, more to the point, know enough about it. So, here are the odds on the wedding dress designers, as decided by online bookies, Paddy Power:

Daniella Helayel, the Issa designer and Amanda Wakeley are both 9-2, which means that they are both the firm favourite (and if you bet on either you won’t stand to win very much)

Elizabeth Emanuel (5-1), who made Princess Diana’s extraordinary ruffle-mountain of a dress with her now ex-husband David Emanuel;

Vivienne Westwood (6-1);

Bruce Oldfield (7-1);

Marchesa (8-1),

Jenny Packham (10-1).

PLUS!  The site has also placed odds on the colour of the queen’s hat on the big day. . . Do YOU have any insider insight into this?

AND, if you are feeling lucky, Ladbrokes are offering 10,000/1 that Kate wears jewellery from Elizabeth Duke before heading off to Magaluf or Butlins on honeymoon with the heir to the throne. Are they taking this seriously, we ask ourselves?

Not to mention that this is only the first week! We’ll have another six to eight months of this, depending on which date the happy day should fall on. Which, btw, you can also bet on, should you be inclined!
