You may have noticed Grazia Daily's been bewitched by Emma Watson recently. While on the Harry Potter promo trail in London, she wowed us with her fashionable trailblazing courtesy of a vampy Vionnet number and that minxy Atelier Mayer stunner. And now that she's taken her English Rose credentials across the pond, Ms Watson's continued to do us Brits proud.
The 20-year-old has conjured up a bespoke Burberry trench, mixed it with cheeky-yet-chic frocks, thrown in a permanent attachment to her magic weapon - the Burberry Winter Storms studded bag - and abracadabra, Emma's alchemy is a winning formula. So let's take a closer look at her sartorial wizardry this week, shall we?
We begin with yesterday’s spellbinding triple whammy for her appearance on the 'Late Show With David Letterman'. Emma played up to her harder-edged crop by arriving in a tomboy-ish checked shirt and simple skinny jeans. Isn’t it a treat to see Hermione Granger looking so casual-cool in an Alexa Chung stylee, making us wonder whether she’s borrowed that floppy jumper from her rocker boyf, George Craig... Having posed for the paps, our Em transformed into a glimmering firecracker, shedding her navy wool coat (from BFF Christopher Bailey, natch) to show off a sassy sequinned dress, reminding us she’s, like, a grown up now, yeah?
Staying true to her new found penchant for fitted mini dresses, the starlet looked brilliantly funky covered in an edgy inkblot print, which wouldn’t look out of place in Katy Perry’s wacky wardrobe. And luckily for Katy (and us), this Dion Lee corker landed on Net-a-Porter YESTERDAY. Hurrah! This tough, biker-esque display really proves how eclectic Emma's style's become. Unconvinced? Witness the contrast of this look in comparison to the ensemble she wore on Monday night...
...when Emma looked to Mr Minimalism himself, Calvin Klein, for her red carpet turn at the New York premiere. Her custom-designed sheath, paired with copper anklet sandals, is a tad droopy on her delicate frame in a nightie kinda way, dontcha think? So although it failed to get our fashion juices flowing, we admire her for giving such a simple statement a go.
And here's the real winner! With a whip of her magic wand, Emma mastered yet another metamorphosis, turning into a sweet school girl type thanks to a form-hugging frock from Carven’s A/W ‘10 collection. How adorable is that shirt collar a-top the taupe ruching? We say very. And teamed with her studded Burberry trench plus uber-flattering Sergio Rossi heels, it’s a perfect lesson in Sixties sophistication. Oh yes, that Carey Mulligan must be reeling...
So why not kick back and take five to watch the pretty number in action below? And while you’re at it, do have a ponder about whether Emma's cast a spell on you, too. As ever, we’d greatly appreciate your feedback on this one.
