Last Night's Best Dressed: Spellbinding!

12 November 2010

When Grazia asked yesterday whether Emma Watson has ever looked more beautiful, the answer was a resounding 'No!' Until last night that is. At the premiere of 'Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows' in London's Leicester Square, the actress looked beyond beguiling, road-testing her pixie crop on the red carpet and making the most of her slender pins in a thigh-grazing frock. And although Watson stole the show, a bevvy of starlets joined her to celebrate the next-to-last installment of the film franchise. So without further ado, here's last night's Best Dressed...

Er, Hermione Granger, who? After recently sporting a kooky Alice by Temperley playsuit and that sumptuous Vionnet number on Wednesday, Emma brought the minx factor with another dose of black magic. Yep, in case you were in any doubt that she’s vamped up her style and shaken off that schoolgirl sweetness, this Rafael Lopez for Atelier Mayer dress seals the deal. A couture dress made from vintage lace, the bodice is super-sexy while the black and deep green feather trim keeps it playful (pick it up for a mere £4200 here). Emma teamed the dress with black heels by Charlotte Olympia, Solange Azagury Partridge jewels and a Remembrance poppy, plus a golden glow; a real treat for the 20 year old who’s been “contractually obliged not to tan” - for the past TEN years!

Helena Bonham Carter's style has long been bonkerific so we were expecting nothing less than English eccentricity from her for yesterday's shenanigans. Well, she didn’t disappoint thanks to a purple Vivienne Westwood ruched gown, accessorised with a Lulu Guinness ‘Paloma’ Fan bag and bows in her bird's nest bouffant. Good show, HBC.

Since becoming a Gossip Girl, Grazia's fallen head over heels for Clémence Poésy and her French chic. So we were thrilled to see her bringing it to Britain with this spellbinding navy number. Doesn't she look fab! Meanwhile, Bonnie Wright, who plays Ginnie Weasley, played it safe in head-to-toe black, allowing her very of-the-moment auburn hair to take center stage.

And finally, Simon Cowell kindly released Cher, Katie and Rebecca from X Factor reherseals long enough for them to sweep through the premiere in their, er, finest. Two thumbs up go to Rebecca for her Cheryl Cole-esque frock but honestly Cher, what were you thinking? Black tights + white shoes - there is no excuse for this. None.

So what do YOU make of last night’s offering? We’ll see you in the comments box below….
