First, can we just say that we cannot stand smug people. ‘Smug’ is unbearable. Vulgar. Annoying. Repellent. And yet this morning WE ARE FEELING A BIT SMUG AND WE JUST CAN’T HELP IT.
Well, last night we got to hang out with Tom Ford (if Grazia was a religion, he would be significant prophet), plus rapper Plan B, gorgeous actors Natascha McElhone and Peter Sarsgaard and a host of other film industry supremos and critics, as part of the jury for the 2011 Orange Wednesdays Rising Star Award.
We were all there, at BAFTA HQ, to vote for our eight favourite rising actors and actresses, who will make up the long list for the only BAFTA to be voted for by the public. Once that list of eight has been announced it will be whittled down to five by Orange Wednesdays customers. After that, the five final nominees will be voted for by the public when nominees are announced on 10 January 2011, via www.orange.co.uk/bafta
It’s all extremely exciting. We're not allowed to say what went on in that room (we had to sign things. Sorry) We’ll give you the list of nominees when we have it.
