The Best Dressed List: from minimalism to MEGA bling!

Goodness gracious, we got so carried away by those fabulous Halloween revellers that we almost forgot to check out what the non-costumed celebs have been wearing (we said almost). So today, Grazia Daily has totted up the ensembles that we feel deserve a Best Dressed nod...

This morning kicked off with us going all giddy over Kate Bosworth. Accompanied by her fresh face and perky pony, the actress has been trotting around the set of her new film, ‘BFF and Baby’ in an assortment of droolsome outfits. First we spotted her in a comfy combo comprising of a stripey tee and loose-fitting jeans. Although, in the new issue of Grazia (out today!), our wise Fashion Jurors frowned on the unflattering peg-leg design VB sported last week, Kate cleverly steers clear of too much bagginess. How? we hear you cry! For starters, the faded denim prevents any sack-impressions, and those pointed pumps keep it sleek and pretty. Very nicely done, dontcha think? Next up, the Bos slipped her lithe figure into a simple yet chic shift dress teamed with little else than another outfiting for those white kitten heels. Yep, this is pared-down minimalism at its best. Keep it coming, Kate!

palermo valli

On the red carpet front, we have Olivia Palermo doing what she does best – looking downright marvellous. She rocked up to the ACE Awards last night wearing this super-elegant Giambattista Valli creation. The graphic print is tres sophisticated but it’s that flirty feathery skirt which has got us buzzing. Although the funky yellow and blue sandals keep the outfit away from musty-fusty territory, we reckon this is an outfit more suited to a certain Ms Wintour...

ricci marchesa

Also providing us with oodles of feminine frou-frou was Christina Ricci at the Artios Awards in NYC. Just how glorious is her Marchesa A/W ‘10 dress? We say very. Although it might not be to everyone’s taste (there’s a certain jellyfish-escaping-from-a-waiter’s-stomach effect, no?), Grazia Daily concurs that it’s one surefire way to combine a spot of Moss-like class, courtesy of the black tux, with a side order of Gaga-esque eccentricity, via the frilly organza. Speaking of the G, we’d LOVE to have seen Christina bravely giving those white tights a try.

vodianova balmainvodianova balmain

Last but by no means least, it’s shining star-wattage in the form of Natalia Vodianova. We’ve already filled you in on THE dress du jour and in honour of Natalia wearing the Balmain sparkler for Harper’s Bazaar, the model hit the tiles in an almost-identical version from the same A/W ‘10 collection. Although Natalia stuck to the retro-glamour provided by all that sequin-smothered gold plus mega shoulders and a plunging neckline, this number is less magazine-cover and more swanky-event appropriate thanks to the floor-sweeping length, with just a modest hint of those mile long legs. Dressy, classy, and blinging? No wonder everyone wants a piece.
