Grazia Daily cannot WAIT for this:

The Isabella Blow movie is ON. It has just been announced that the film, produced by Swedish filmmaker, Anders Palm, is beginning to take shape. A screenplay has already been co-written by Max Newsom and Nicola Brighton, according to Lauren Goldstein Crowe whose biography of BlowIsabella Blow: A Life in Fashion’ is to be released this year and will be used as a background for the biopic.

Philip Treacy and John Galliano are both names which have been attached to the film since it was first mooted, with Andre Leon Talley blogging about the project after Naomi Campbell’s 40th Birthday, saying:

‘I caught Treacy, in an Alexander McQueen smoking with a black shawl collar spliced with gold lamé, to thank him for all those gorgeous Grace Jones hats. We had not hugged since Isabella Blow’s funeral three years ago, and he shared fabulous news: He has a producer to do a film on Isabella, and Galliano has already confirmed to play himself. Who will play Isabella? Treacy has a great trick up his hat, and it’s going to rock the world, but he cannot reveal it until this major new talent confirms.’

John Galliano plying himself = amaze.

The news that a film of Isabella’s life is moving forward comes after weeks of renewed interest in Blow’s life. She was regarded as one of the fashion industry’s most eccentric characters, famously discovering Alexander McQueen and helping to establish the careers of Philip Treacy and Sophie Dahl amongst others. Her widower, Detmar Blow, has just released the biographyBlow by Blow’, in which he talks about McQueen’s subsequent ‘betrayal’ of Isabella, saying that after he sold his company to Gucci in 2001 (a deal reportedly brokered by Isabella) she was left without the paid role she had hoped for. “I remember reading of how he had flown his boyfriend somewhere for £130,000,” Detmar told the Evening Standard yesterday. “What did Issie get? Some clothes. I find that quite shocking”.

So are you as excited as Grazia Daily about the prospect of a film of Blow’s life? And who could you see taking on the roles of iconic figures like Blow and McQueen? Suggestions below pliz.
