Oh Miss Moss, why must you be such a teeeease?
Sneaky pics of Mossy’s last (probably. But hopefully not) collection for Topshop have just been released, along with a video of Kate styling the designs AND a 7-day countdown to the launch, where you can see which piece Mossy wears in the days until the pieces hit the shop floor. As we reported back in August when it was announced that Mossy’s collaboration with Uncle Phil and the gang was coming to an end, alongside the new designs there are reissues of iconic pieces including (gasp!) the ruffle sleeved pansy print tea dress.
Next to the classic pieces, Mossy’s new offerings include a fabulous woollen cape with embroidery to the hem, a super chunky knitted cardigan with hood and a fringe sleeved mini dress, all of which are immediately going On. Our. Wishlist.
Without wishing to get too sentimental (not least because we’re in denial about the end of the Kate Moss at Topshop label) this is a fitting swansong to Moss’ fourteen collections with the high street retailer, with inspiration for Winter 2010 clearly coming from Kate’s current wardrobe as well as her own personal style. This, of course, is not to mention the fact that several pieces being reissued is surely a testament to the ongoing wearability of Kate’s designs and the unprecedented fan base that her collections have inspired.
Moss spoke to the New York Times T blog, saying "when we started the project we didn't have an end in mind but I'm really proud of all 14 collections.. I've learned a lot about the design and development process; experiences that I'd only ever seen informally through being a model."
The collection hits the stores and web on Tuesday 2nd November (next Tuesday) with Kate reportedly scheduled to make an appearance at the Oxford Circus store on the 1st November. We’re going to start queuing this afternoon.
