It was a monochrome night at the Q awards yesterday at London’s Grosvenor Hotel, where Take That (yum) received the Q Hall Of Fame award and lovely Florence Welch (minus her machine) was crowned ‘Best Female’ as well as walking away with the ‘Best Track’ gong for ‘You’ve Got The Love’.
Florence wore an appropriately fierce ensemble to collect her awards in top-to-toe YSL from Stefano Pilati’s AW ’10 collection. Flo’ layered the sheer pussybow blouse over a lace bustier for a less revealing take on the ensemble than we saw on the runway.
Nadine Coyle continued her pre-solo-album red carpet parade in a patterned monochrome mini dress, which she accessorised with a black boyfriend blazer, lace-up suede chukka boots, a pair of black Ray Ban wayfarers and lots and LOTS of tanned leg.
Fearne Cotton opted for more black with a sheer oversized blouse, which she paired with skinny black jeans, a crucifix necklace, lace tights and peep-toe suede heels.
Ellie Goulding, meanwhile, worked her sequin mini with a studded belt and lace-up clogs, providing the perfect showcase for her grungetastic purpley grey hair.
In amongst all the black, however, there was a ray of sunshine in the form of Miss Corinne Bailey Rae who looked typically understated in a M Missoni ensemble, modelling a sunflower yellow and coffee checked jacket and shorts from the label’s SS ’11 pre-collection. Well HELLO there lady!
